When we realized that less than 30% of all plastic bottles in the US get recycled, we knew this was the right thing to do. Little did we realize that in such a short time GreenWeaver, made from 100% post consumer plastic bottles and woven with a matte finish, would become the next generation of academic attire. We also introduced NuHorizon, a new line of eco-friendly regalia. It's made with the same process as Greenweaver, but with a comfortable knit satin finish.
After commencement, students have the option of keeping their regalia as a souvenir of their accomplishment or placing in recycling bins that we provide at commencement. Regalia that is recycled will be reprocessed into new product.
At one time, our manufacturing plant floors were cluttered with leftover scraps of fabric. One day our employees decided enough was enough. It was time to stop letting all of these scraps go to waste! Today, all of our waste materials are bundled and sent for recycling. We also only use recycled bags for storage and recycled cardboard shipping cartons.
Carbon-based dry cleaning is one of the most efficient and sustainable methods of dry cleaning fabrics in mass production. Using liquid CO2 that is often recycled, combined with cleansing agents are able to wash the dirt from garments.
